So, this is the biggest stash in the house and needs the strictest rules...
No buying ANYTHING except basics and replacements until 2017. So, let's decide what a basic is....
Basics are:
1) Adhesive
2) White, Black or Brown Cardstock. White is pretty self-explanatory, but I use black or brown for layering on my cards, so I consider those staples in my craft room.
That's it.
Replacements are only for replacement of staples - like Versamark, black ink, embossing powder, etc. These are the things that I currently have and if I use them so much I actually run out this year I can go ahead and repurchase, but ONLY if the original supply has been used. No additional colors or versions may be purchased.
I am still keeping my Silhouette subscription, but all other kit and card clubs have expired and will no be renewed.
This may sound a little harsh, but seriously, if you saw my craft room right now, you would understand. I have boxes and boxes of patterned paper, drawers full of embellishments, and a mountain of cardstock. I love what I have, and I'm interested in the challenge of rediscovering my stuff and actually using it.
I found Operation Write Home too late (sad face here), but I have located a few other places that need handmade cards and I'm looking forward to donating! I'll write more on my current stash-busting strategy at a later date.

Introduction and Other Stuff
Hey there! My name is Jennifer and this is my blog. I'm starting this blog in order to keep myself on track for my goals this year - namely to stop buying craft supplies and actually start using them. Actually, it's more than just craft stuff - I usually find something I'm interested in trying and jump in with both feet.
I have a lot of stuff. I wouldn't put myself in the hoarder category since all of my pets are present and accounted for and my house is clean, but I do have a collecting problem. I collect things I love and use, but I acquire stuff at a faster rate than I use it, and I need to take a little break since I have a daughter going into college next year.
There are a couple of main areas that need some attention and stash-busting this year...
1) Makeup
2) Scrapbooking/Cardmaking
3) Knitting
4) Essential Oils
So, as the year goes on, I'll be trying to make some progress and share some ideas on how I managed to stash-bust through this year and learn to start enjoying the things I already have instead of looking to what I need to buy.
Thanks!
